# Use Super Agent Through the API

> Ask Super Agent questions from your own code or workflows with a personal API key.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Super Agent is available when it is turned on for your organization. If you don't see it, contact your Attention team.

Use the Super Agent API to ask questions from your own code or workflows: send a message, list your chats, read a chat's messages and delete a chat. For every endpoint and field, see the [Super Agent API reference](https://docs.attention.com/api-reference/super-agent/send-super-agent-message.md).

## Authentication

Use a personal API key. Super Agent chats belong to a person, so organization-level API keys are rejected. See [API authentication](https://docs.attention.com/api-authentication.md).

## Get the answer

The API waits up to 15 seconds for the answer. If Super Agent is still working, it returns a `processing` status with the chat's `session_id`. Then either:

* read the chat's messages until the answer arrives, or
* pass a `callback_url` with your message to get the answer at that URL.

Chats you start through the API appear in your web chat history.

## What works only in the web app

The API doesn't take file attachments, and changes that need approval can't be approved through it. Deep Analysis, the call you're viewing and chat sharing are [web app](https://docs.attention.com/super-agent/web-app.md) features.
