Overview

Install Attention’s Microsoft Teams app to interact with Attention agents and receive workflow outputs directly in your Teams channels and chats.
This page covers the Attention app and agent inside Microsoft Teams. It does not cover recording Teams meetings — for that, see the Desktop App guide.
Note: Installing the app requires a Microsoft Teams administrator, or someone with permission to approve new apps in your organization’s app catalog. Most end users cannot install it themselves.

Before you start

Microsoft Teams must be enabled for your Attention organization before the option appears in your settings. If you do not see Microsoft Teams in the integrations list, contact your Attention account manager — this is enabled on the Attention side, not something you can turn on yourself.

Configuration

Step 1: Install the Attention app in Microsoft Teams

Install the app from the Microsoft marketplace listing: Attention AI on the Microsoft Marketplace Your Teams administrator may need to approve it in your organization’s app catalog before it becomes available to your team.

Step 2: Connect Microsoft Teams to Attention

Choose the option that matches what you want to do.

Option 1: Create a Microsoft Teams connection for the Attention Builder

Use this to build workflows that post to Teams, create channels, or react to channel messages.
  1. Click on your name on the top left corner.
  2. Select ⚙️ Settings from the dropdown.
  3. In the Settings page, select Builder on the left sidebar.
  4. Select a workflow.
    • Alternatively, create a new workflow by selecting ➕ Create workflow on the top right corner.
  5. In the workflow builder, select the ➕ icon to add a new node. Search for Microsoft Teams.
  6. In the node configuration window on the right, click Create Connection.
  7. Name your connection and select Connect.
  8. Follow the Microsoft authorization flow and click Accept when prompted.

Option 2: Connect the Microsoft Teams Attention Super Agent via the Integrations Settings Page

Use this to talk to your Attention agent inside Teams.
  1. Click on your name on the top left corner.
  2. Select ⚙️ Settings from the dropdown.
  3. In the Settings page, select Integrations on the left sidebar.
  4. Select ➕ Add integration on the top right corner.
  5. Select the Microsoft Teams integration option.
  6. Follow the Microsoft authorization flow and click Accept when prompted.
Once the connection is created, the agent is ready in direct messages immediately.

Step 3: Add the Attention app to a channel

Direct messages work as soon as the connection exists. To use the agent in a channel, the app has to be added to that channel first:
  1. Open the channel in Microsoft Teams.
  2. Select the + icon to add an app to the channel.
  3. Search for Attention AI and add it.
You only need to do this in the channels where you want to mention the agent. Direct messages need no additional configuration.

Using the agent

  • Direct message — open a chat with Attention and ask your question.
  • In a channel — mention @Attention AI followed by your question.

Use Cases

Once configured, partner with your Attention account manager to build out agents and workflows to fit your team’s unique needs. Examples include:
  • Sales Team Sync: Post call summaries or transcripts into a dedicated Teams channel for real-time collaboration.
  • Coaching & Feedback Loop: Surface high-scoring and low-scoring calls with alerts where your team already works.
  • Highlight Wins: Notify the channel when a deal closes, with insights from the conversation that moved it forward.
  • Attention Agent: Mention @Attention AI in a channel, or send it a direct message, and get answers from your AI agents.

Troubleshooting

I don’t see Microsoft Teams in the integrations list

Microsoft Teams has not been enabled for your Attention organization yet. Contact your Attention account manager.

The agent doesn’t respond in a channel, but works in a direct message

The app has not been added to that channel. See Step 3.

The agent doesn’t respond anywhere

Work through these in order:
  1. Confirm the Attention app is still installed in your Microsoft Teams organization. If it was removed, reinstall it from the marketplace listing.
  2. Confirm the connection still exists under Settings → Integrations. If it was disconnected, connect it again — reconnecting is safe and takes a few seconds.
  3. If both are in place and the agent is still silent, contact support with the approximate time you sent the message and whether it was a direct message or a channel mention.

The app is not available for me to install in Teams

Your Microsoft Teams administrator has to approve it in your organization’s app catalog first. Share the marketplace listing with them.

Attention Microsoft Teams Integration Permissions

Attention requests different permissions depending on which connection you create. The Super Agent connection requests strictly less than the Builder connection.

Attention Builder Microsoft Teams Integration Permissions

Actions Attention can take

Two of these permissions are broader than they may look, so here is exactly why they are requested:
  • Directory profile access is used to resolve the email address of the person talking to the agent, so the agent knows who it is answering and applies that person’s access.
  • Reading channel messages is required by the “New channel message” trigger, which lets a workflow react to messages posted in a channel you choose.

Attention Super Agent Microsoft Teams Integration Permissions

Actions the Attention Super Agent can take

The Super Agent connection deliberately does not request directory-wide profile access, presence information, permission to read messages across all channels, or permission to create channels.
Attention agents use LLMs and have the potential to generate inaccurate responses, summaries or other outputs.
