You must be an Attention Admin to connect Attio. In Attio, you must be a workspace admin to create the API key that Attention uses.Attio isn’t turned on for every organization yet. If Attio isn’t listed in the Integrate your CRM dialog, contact your Attention team.

What the integration does

Connecting Attio gives you a 2-way sync:
  • Attio → Attention: Attention syncs your People, Companies and Deals. Calls are linked to the right records automatically, and you can filter and analyze calls by the records they relate to.
  • Attention → Attio: Attention writes the values it extracts from your calls back to the Attio attributes you choose.
Super Agent can also look up your Attio companies, people and deals when it answers questions. It only reads from Attio. Before you connect, note that:
  • An organization can have one CRM connected. If you already connected another CRM, delete it on CRM Settings first.
  • Attention syncs People, Companies and Deals. Other Attio objects, including custom objects, aren’t synced.
  • Deals sync only if your Attio workspace has the Deals object.
  • Deal View isn’t available with Attio yet.

Create an Attio API key

Attention connects to Attio with a workspace access token. To create one:
  1. In Attio, open the dropdown beside your workspace name and click Workspace settings.
  2. Click the Developers tab.
  3. Click + New access token and give it a name, such as “Attention”.
  4. Under Scopes, give the token this access:
  1. Copy the token. You paste it into Attention in the next step.
A token with Read access to Records is enough to sync, but Attention can’t write anything to Attio with it. Every write fails with “The Attio API key is read-only. Reconnect Attio with a key that has record write access.”

Connect Attio to Attention

  1. Log into Attention as an Admin.
  2. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Settings.
  3. Click CRM Settings.
  4. In the CRM integration & sync section, click Add your CRM.
  5. In the Integrate your CRM dialog, select Attio.
  6. Paste your token into Attio API key.
  7. Click Connect and sync.
Attention checks the key, shows Attio connected and starts the initial sync. The Attio card now appears under CRM integration & sync.

If Attention rejects the key

What Attention syncs

  • Records: all your People, Companies and Deals.
  • Fields: when you connect, Attention syncs every supported attribute on those objects, including your custom attributes. To change this, click Manage on the Attio card, check the fields you want and click Save.
  • First sync: Attention imports your full history, up to 50,000 records of each object per day. A larger workspace finishes over more than one day. Records appear in Attention as they’re imported.
  • After that: Attention checks Attio for new and changed records every few minutes. In large workspaces, a change can take longer to show up.
If your workspace gets the Deals object after you connect, delete and re-add the Attio integration so Attention starts syncing deals. Attention links each call to Attio records automatically:
  • People whose email address or phone number matches a call participant.
  • Companies that those people belong to, or whose domain matches a participant’s email domain.
  • Deals associated with those people or companies.
If no record types are selected yet in Associate CRM record types with conversations, Attention selects Companies, People and Deals when you connect. Reps see the linked records on each call and can change them. See CRM Settings to change which record types are shown.
Add your company’s email domain under Internal domains in Organization Settings. Otherwise, if your own team is in Attio, Attention can treat your colleagues as external participants and link calls to your own company’s records.

Write call insights back to Attio

Writing to Attio needs a token with Read-write access to Records.
  1. On CRM Settings, set up CRM field configurations: the fields Attention fills in from your calls. Map each field to an Attio attribute. CRM Settings explains how to tell which version of the section you have and links to the guide for it.
  2. Choose when the values go to Attio: automatically after each call, or after a rep reviews them on the call.
Keep in mind:
  • Attention can’t write Attio’s read-only attributes, such as Record ID and Created at.
  • Select and status values must match the options in Attio exactly.
  • For a multi-select attribute, Attention replaces the attribute’s values with the ones it writes.
  • Attention reads the token’s scopes when you connect. If you change the scopes in Attio later, delete and re-add the Attio integration so Attention picks up the change.

Change the API key

The Attio card has no Reconnect option. To switch to a new token, for example after you rotate or revoke one in Attio, delete the integration and connect again:
  1. On CRM Settings, open the Attio card menu and select Delete integration, then confirm.
  2. Follow Connect Attio to Attention with the new token.
If Attention can no longer use the token, the card shows Attio needs reconnect. Delete and re-add the integration the same way to restore it. After you connect again, check your synced fields under Manage.

Disconnect Attio

  1. Go to Settings → CRM Settings.
  2. Open the Attio card menu and select Delete integration.
  3. Confirm in the Delete integration dialog.
Attention stops reading from and writing to your Attio workspace. Nothing in Attio is deleted, and values Attention already wrote stay on your records. To have synced Attio data deleted from Attention, contact support@attention.com. You can also revoke the token in Attio under Workspace settings → Developers. Attention then can’t reach Attio, and the card shows Attio needs reconnect.
